Sweat the Small Stuff

I came across this picture, and while I'm not entirely sure when it originated, I am absolutely positive that I kind of love it now. (Glowing review, I know!) But seriously; looks that combine vintage or super-casual flare with nouveau edge are some of my current favorites. Maybe you're not ready to flaunt your heather gray sweats in public with a modern shootie, but there are definitely other ways to refine 'relaxed' style into 'clean-cut chic'. The contrast is what makes it work! Liquid leggings and a blousy sweatshirt; yes! A corset top with high-wasted, flared denim; yes! A mini skirt with an over sized blazer; done! As we move fashion forward, don't be afraid to incorporate blasts from the past. After all, an educated homage is oh-so-modern!

Boots for our Favorite Bachelorettes!

While we’re not sure who Jake is choosing, after last night’s home dates, it’s clear who our front runners are for favorite bachelorette style! Tenley is romantic and girly, and her ultra-sweet demeanor shines out with her smile and style as well. Gia (our personal fave) has simple, but certain, sex appeal in anything from a plain white tank and jeans to a sultry red dress. She’s super hot, but that comes in second to her genuine personality and all-around good heart. While we can’t promise Jake’s love, we can promise them true love with these picks that we think match their unique styles!

If you’re more of a Tenley, try the Mariah with a floral or patterned wrap-dress:

If you’re a Gia, pair the Kimball with skinny jeans, a fitted tee and a wrap coat:

Your Valentine is a Stud!

Your Valentine is a Stud!Let your date take care of the flowers! Yes; there are some gorgeous winter floral prints out there this season. But where does 'apropos' wither into 'predictable'? If spicing things up is your idea of romance, show your Valentine some tough love next weekend with a stunningly studded date outfit. Of course, you'll want to keep it flirty with pieces that feature ruching or super-girly silhouettes. Studs are built-in bling, so keep your actual jewelry simple and minimal. Kiss conventional, cutesy style goodbye with a high-gloss lipstick, and surprise your admirer with an unexpected look as sharp as Cupid's arrow!

Bright Away!

Bright Away!Hot Shoe: Cassie

I need color, now! Thankfully, color is making an early arrival this year, heading back into our closets even before warm weather demands we pack up the wool and heavy knits. I've never been one to shy away from bright colors. In fact, I often stockpile a few versatile spring/summer looks for use in later months when colorful pieces tend to fly south for the winter. This has been exceptionally true of late given the recession depression that's put its steely stamp on even the most diehard color fanatics–designers and fashionistas alike. That's why Cassie is my favorite, hot shoe this month. An unexpected burst of color at your feet combines the emerging wave of brightness with the current fade-to-gray fad for a look that's as transitional as Cassie's tan-to-fuchsia snake print.

Question:

Hi! I just ordered the Orchid this month. While I'm sure they are going to look great with a pair of skinny jeans, I'm not sure what else. Any ideas?
