left to right: Gigi, Celia, Jill, and Mairead

One-piece Wonders!

These ladies dazzle in their one-piece looks; but it’s their shoes and accessories that really single out these outfits! Gigi adds unexpected color to her printed jumpsuit with Azure; a patent cinch and gold-detailed shades complete her one-of-a-kind look. Celia proves that a one-shoulder dress, a yellow cuff, and a pair of Muses can make for one sexy outfit! Jill boasts the best of both Stephanies with a belted cheetah-print dress and some passionately pink pumps. Mariead is one for contrast when she pairs a demure necklace with a vibrant, ruffled dress and flashy Tango heels.

Layered looks are great, but these ladies prove that a single piece can be just as dynamic and just as dazzling. Great job!

Fitness Friday: Memorial Day Weekend

Remember Mad Libs? Here we go.

1) Singular Noun __________

2) Name__________

3) Adjective __________

Remember that time you ate a _singular noun_?

Remember that time you and _name_ did that thing that you’re not allowed to talk about?

Remember that time you got a little crazy and ended up _adjective_ on your neighbor’s lawn?

Remember Happy Hour with Toni Ferrara? I vaguely remember it being great; but let’s just say that after the Julep and the Cosmo, I took a cab to the theater and saw EITHER Sex and the City 2 or Shrek 4. I can’t remember, and plus, you never know with CGI these days.

If you’re like me, you had trouble just remembering which words you chose for the blanks. So, in honor of Memorial Day, this Fitness Friday is all about keeping your memory fit. Get it?

-Play mind games—not just the fun kind that get people to do what you want, but also the kind that stimulate your brain. Games like Sudoku actually increase brain activity; it’s a mental work out. If you really want to push yourself, try writing the numbers with the wrong hand. That’ll really get your synapses firing.

-Exercise. I could tell; you were all, “There he goes with his loose interpretation of the word ‘Fitness’.” Not this time. I’ve mentioned before that exercise, especially cardio, improves circulation and can reduce stress levels (you probably don’t remember, though). Well, the improved circulation delivers more oxygen to your brain, and it turns out that oxygen is good. It makes your brain more efficient at filing stuff away for you to recall later.

-Drink up. Now, Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, so feel free to kick back and relax with a glass of wine. Conveniently, alcohol—in moderation—helps improve memory function. Obviously, too much will have the opposite effect and you’ll end up _adjective_ on the lawn sharing a _singular noun_ with _name_ and you won’t even remember why.

On a serious note, don’t forget to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives serving our country. Whoa okay. That’s about as long as I can stay serious. Have a great Memorial Day weekend.

Richy T.—forget me not; I’ll be back next week.

left to right: AJ, Audrey, and Katie

There are always two sides to every story! As we head into Gemini, the astrological sign of duality, the stylists would like to congratulate these ladies on their totally-trendy, two-sided looks! AJ pairs Gypsy with a denim pencil skirt and plaid peasant top for a look that is both casual and sleek. Topped off with a belt and some great shades, AJ’s outfit is vivacious and versatile. Audrey’s Safari wedges bring a sexy splash of attitude to her casual denim and cotton layers. Unexpected? Yes. Appreciated? Definitely. Katie highlights the pearl undertones of her ultra-glossy Fantasias with a cream, gauze top and matching cinch. The matte finishes in this outfit show off Fantasia’s softer side as well as Katie’s eye for detail!

These looks straddle the line between day and night, and the results are perfectly balanced. Ladies, you look fantastic!

Fitness Friday: Miss US Legs

Okay. It’s Fitness Friday afternoon and despite the impending weekend, I’m still working extra diligently to help the stylists describe the June shoes—hold for applause. I know: we’re all excited.

I haven't been to the gym in over a week and that is the opposite of a miracle because the gym is my favorite place to distract myself from ...well...everything. I need to get back to working out because Miss USA up there is making me feel guilty. How great does she look in her Azures?

This Fitness Friday, I'm taking it back to where it all started: actual fitness. If you think heels make your legs look great, you're right. You know what else makes your legs look great? Leg exercises. Here are three of my favorites:

The recumbent bike. Recumbent is just a fancy word for 'laid-back' and that is precisely why I love this one. You can just sit there a pedal away while you text, or read, or question why certain people thought it was okay to wear that to the gym. When you remember that you're actually working out, try pedaling as fast as you can for 30 seconds and then go back to being laid back for a minute. You'll be surprised how sore this will make you--in the good way.

Scissor Kicks. This one's fun because, again, it involves being laid back. Actually, it involves laying on your side. I'm a big fan of exercises that let me relax. So, once you're on your side, lift both legs off the ground and kick like you're swimming. (You don't have to plug your nose or anything) Just make sure you alternate which side you're laying on; count each flutter and do a few sets of 50.

Calf Raises. I've said it before and I'll say it again: a hot pair of heels will work your calves like a ranch hand, but doing a little calf exercise at the gym will actually help your heels feel more comfortable--especially if you spend all day on your feet. Grab some weights--nothing heavy because this is still a pretty laid back exercise--and raise yourself up on the balls of your feet. I find that doing it to the beat of my music makes me look and feel cooler, but that might be just me.

I'm not saying that Rima, Miss USA up there, does all or any of these exercises, but clearly, she's doing something. These might be worth a try.

Have a great weekend, ladies!

Richy T.--laid back.

Accessor-Ease!

Left to right: Danielle, Monique, Sarah

Even for evening, spring looks should be free and easy. According to our stylists, these lovely ladies are doing it right! Danielle created a hot outfit with her Anyas, some perfectly matched jewelry, and a clutch that introduces an unexpected hint of pink. The look is creatively straightforward and pulled together! Monique’s look is super versatile, incorporating a necklace and earrings that echo her ruby red Wynn deVelles. Her khakis and navy top break up the matching pieces and keep the look eclectic. Sarah’s white-on-white ensemble is a delightfully clean canvas to showcase her Azaleas and coordinating black polish and bracelet.

These looks take elements of “matchy-matchy” and really make them pop with the right accessories! Great job, ladies!

stylist Q&A

Question:

Hi! I just ordered the Orchid this month. While I'm sure they are going to look great with a pair of skinny jeans, I'm not sure what else. Any ideas?
